EU Tells Members Gambling Competition is Vital
European Commissioner for Internal Markets Charlie McCreevy has said he will push ahead with plans to prosecute member states who discriminate against competition from gambling firms in other states.
Speaking yesterday in Brussels to news agency Bloomberg, he said, “If member states wish to ban gambling, well, then I won’t cry at night about it. But they can’t be discriminatory against legally authorized gambling companies from other member states.”
